New Record Low for Chicago Fire Deaths in 2012

The Survive Alive House Foundation is thrilled to present a new interactive, 3D, Virtual Tour of the Survive Alive House. Our Virtual Tour, which was funded by a grant from Safeco Insurance and designed and hosted by 3DInternet, gives visitors an extremely realistic experience that can only be surpassed by touring the house in person. Please explore our website and learn about fire safety and burn prevention.

The Survive Alive House Foundation (SAHF) is a 501 (c) 3, not-for-profit organization. The SAHF includes area business leaders and representatives of the City of Chicago Fire Department.

The Survive Alive House facility located at 1010 South Clinton Street in Chicago is an interactive, instructional facility that has been used to teach tens of thousands of children the fundamentals of fire safety.

Children are taught by firemen in a classroom setting and then they experience a simulation of a fire in the home using special effects like non-toxic, artificial smoke, heat-panels in bedroom doors, and a street corner meeting place with a telephone.

What many children have learned in their visits to the Survive Alive House actually saved lives. Since 1989, the Survive Alive House has contributed to a dramatic drop in fire deaths. Testimonials from several of the children tell the story of the Survive Alive House the best.

The Chicago Fire Department staffs the Survive Alive House with a public education unit and the SAHF provides operating funds for upkeep of the facility, educational materials that the children receive when they visit, and transportation grants (available to groups on a need basis).

Feel free to schedule a visit for your class or group and take a Virtual Tour and test your knowledge with our fire safety quiz to improve your chances of surviving a fire.

If you are interested in contributing to the SAHF or serving on our Board of Directors, please contact our President.

Enjoy your visit and be sure to return soon to see what new fire safety and burn prevention information and links have been posted.
